A shallow aluminium disc, set a little off-centre so it reads as a pebble rather than a circle. The light washes the wall around it instead of pointing at you, which is why it works beside a bed where a reading lamp would be too much.
The shape
The shape
The disc is an uneven oval rather than a circle, and it sits close to the wall. Off, it reads as an object; on, the edge disappears into the light it throws.
The light
The light
The LED is hidden behind the disc, so you see the wash on the wall and never the source. It runs at a warm white 2700–3500K and is not dimmable, so the light stays the same from the moment you switch it on.

Questions
Can I install this myself?
Only if you are qualified to work on mains wiring. This is a hardwired fitting: the manufacturer's instructions require the circuit to be isolated and the installation carried out by a certified electrician. There is no plug and no cable to a socket.
How is it fixed to the wall?
A separate base plate screws to the wall and the mains cable passes through an inlet in that base. The disc is then aligned and screwed onto the base. Timber and plasterboard take the screws directly; masonry needs wall plugs.
Can I choose the colour temperature?
No — we supply the warm white version at 2700–3500K, the tone of a traditional bulb. The supplier also makes a cool white at 5500–7000K, but we do not stock it. The lamp is not dimmable either, so the light it gives is fixed.
Which finish should I pick?
Black recedes against a pale wall and stands out against a dark one. White almost disappears into a light wall. The brushed gold catches the light along its grain and is the one most people choose.
How much light does it actually give?
It is 7 W and 249–2000 lumens, and lights an area of 3–5 m². That is enough to light a bedside or a stretch of hallway, not enough to be the only light in a living room.
What if it arrives damaged, or I change my mind?
You have 30 days to return it. If it arrives damaged or faulty, we pay the return postage. For a change of mind the return is at your own cost and the item goes back to the Netherlands.
